COVID-19 policy

UpdatedSunday August 2, 2020 bySusan Unger.

NYFC and MYF take safety as our number one priority at all times, including during these challenging times of COVID-19. Below is the COVID policy adopted by Central Mass Youth Football and Cheer, NYFC and MYF. Please read the information below, and be sure your athlete knows and understands these rules.

CMYFCC voluntary workout reopening plan.

In order to assure all athletes receive communication about plan, in accordance with Covid Precautions and Procedures to minimize risk of exposure. All parameters are based off of the Massachusetts Safety and Reopening Standards for Supervised Youth Sports- Phase II and CDC guidance.

Primary Goal is to maintain social distancing to a reasonable extent among athletes and coaches.

Assessing risk.

Football players will not engage in any physical contact.

Any drills will be “against air” with no opponent or with an unmanned bag to be sanitized after each use.

Focus will be on passing, route running, footwork, form tackling of bags, and general conditioning

  • Athletes and coaches must only attend if they are feeling normally healthy and have no fever (untreated) for 3 days
  • Athletes and coaches must not attend if they are known to have been exposed to a Covid positive person in the prior 14 days
  • Athletes are required to dress in their car in the parking lot. No equipment bags can be brought on the field
  • Athletes are to sanitize their hands in their car or immediately in the bathroom before and after workouts
  • Athletes are to bring their own hydration, labeled with their name, to be placed 6ft away from other hydration bottles
  • Athletes will not share hydration bottles
  • Athletes will be placed in pods of no more than 25 athletes/coaches combined
  • Coaches must wear face coverings if a drill requires them to be within 6 ft of an athlete
  • All activities will be skills and conditioning driven with ZERO contact between athletes. There will be no games or scrimmages
  • All pods must be a minimum of 30 ft apart
  • The only equipment being used would be a rotation of footballs in each pod to be sanitized after each drill, UNMANNED tackling dummies to be sanitized after each contact, and cones which would be sanitized if contacted.
  • Athletes must be dropped off or 1 parent/guardian per participant may watch, wearing a mask, behind an established boundary.
  • Athletes and coaches are to leave the field area as soon as the workouts are over
